Video Transcription: 2-10 Home Warranty Luxury Package

Tyler:

Hello everyone. This is Tyler Ford with eXp Realty in Tucson, Arizona. And I am with Heather Tumbler Rich. She is our account rep for Southern Arizona with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. And today we are going to be talking about the luxury package that a buyer can add on to their coverage. That includes high-end kitchens, high-end appliances and homes with multiple water heaters and how it makes sense. I mean, it’s a minimal cost. I’m going to let Heather talk about it, but it’s certainly worth adding on if you’ve got a high-end kitchen and a bigger home with multiple water heaters. So with that, I’m going to turn over to Heather and she’s going to explain the luxury package and why you’d want to add it to your home warranty.

Heather:

Thank you. Well, it’s definitely an option not for everybody, but if you have a homeowner that’s purchasing a home, they’re the buyer and they have a really fancy kitchen, perhaps Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking appliances, I strongly recommend that they should consider this luxury package because what it does is it removes the per appliance dollar limit. So currently right now this home service agreement will cover per appliance upto $3,000 and that’s wholesale amount.

Heather:

So the retail world is definitely double that. But if the home has a really fancy kitchen, how we’ve been describing, this would remove that 3000 per appliance dollar limit and then open up the ability to have more money spent for their replacement or also for repair opportunity. So what it does though, unfortunately is it does not cover any commercial appliances and the way to determine if it’s a commercial appliance is just by looking at the type of appliance and the model or the serial number if you have it.

Heather:

And if you do a Google search or a internet search, it’ll say at the top commercial. So that’s also to have a conversation about it. It does talk more specifically about the buyer options on page eight of our home service agreement, it’s about the appliance luxury package. So what it does again is it removes a per client style limit. Also, it removes the water heater dollar limit. So if there are maybe multiple water heaters, maybe there’s three or four water heaters in this very luxury home, it is something absolutely to consider that because in the home service agreement currently here it does have a dollar limit of $1,250 for the dollar limit for the water heater.

Heather:

But at least it gives another option if the consumer wants to have a little bit more coverage. So in the appliance category we cover based off of functionality, capacity and efficiency, not by name brand. So that’s something that I always want to have the [inaudible 00:03:09] with the homeowner if I can to just talk to them about how exactly the correct expectations for this luxury package is that we’re going to come up with a replacement or a repair option for the capacity, efficiency and functionality.

Tyler:

Well, so a couple of questions for you. Sounds like an awesome add-on for only a hundred dollars and what it covers is far beyond that. What about like tankless water heaters? Is that considered something that you would cover?

Heather:

We do.

Tyler:

Because a lot of homes and a lot of the newer builds are coming with tankless water heaters.

Heather:

Yep. We actually do cover tankless water heaters and it’s listed in our home service agreements. It’s also eligible for coverage on the seller coverage too. So not only is it a seller, but also by your coverage. Tankless is eligible.

Tyler:

Cool. And we’ve been talking about kitchens, our washer and dryer, are those included as appliances.

Heather:

In our base plan price for the buyer, yes it sure is.

Tyler:

Okay. And those are pretty standard. So a high end washer dryer, it wouldn’t like necessarily cover this, this because it would be covered in the basic because washer dryers are standard. There’s not the Wolf brand of a washer or a Sub-Zero washer dryer.

Heather:

Yeah. So that goes back to the per appliance. It’s considered 3000 for that also. For per appliance but then it will remove that dollar limit with this luxury package.

Tyler:

Got it. So it’s super easy to add. It’s a hundred dollars, they would just add it at the time of their basic coverage and it more… The hundred dollars that they’re getting and spending more than covers or it’s well worth the money if something were-

Heather:

Yeah. Also the buyer will have up to 30 days to add any options if they want to add any options to that too. So if they decide, “Yep, I want to add that luxury later.” They have up to 30 days from the closing date. It’s really important to update us on the closing date to make sure that we have the correct closing date in our system. Because sometimes that doesn’t always get updated and the buyer can lose some time.

Tyler:

So that’s good to know. Because a lot of times you get into a house and until you get in there and start using stuff you really don’t know. And so you’ve got 30 days that they could add it 30 days after close of escrow.

Heather:

You got it.

Tyler:

Okay so next month what we have coming up is the extended pipe. We’ve been doing this monthly and next month we’re going to be talking about extended pipe and tell us a little bit, give us a little teaser on what next month’s going to be.

Heather:

So the home service agreement of the plan itself, which is this, covers under the main foundation of the home. The extended pipe leak is going to give another option for water and sewer line coverage from the home to the street.

Tyler:

Awesome. So another valuable thing that people can add on and especially older homes. So next month we’ll be coming at you with the extended pipe. So thanks for watching and thank you Heather.

Heather:

Thank you.
