WHY JOIN EXP REALTY?
#1 Why Join eXp Realty - Revenue Share
Hi, my name is Tyler Ford, Tucson, Arizona with eXp Realty. One of the big reasons so many agents are joining eXp Realty is because of its revenue share. EXp is far more than just a commission check. In a traditional broker, in order to get paid, you’ve got to do a deal, so you’re only as good as your last commission. But with eXp, they give you the ability to recruit agents into eXp, and as the agents that you recruit do transactions, eXp is going to pay you a portion of the commission that goes back to eXp. So it doesn’t come out of your pocket and it gives you the ability to earn revenue share.
So what’s happening is agents are no longer exchanging hours for dollars, it’s true leverage in terms of residual income. So eXp Realty gives agents an exit strategy to recruit and earn a substantial residual income over time by recruiting agents into eXp, and that’s one of the big reasons it’s revenue share. And with our revenue share, it’s revenue share and not profit share, so it comes off of the top line revenue. So it’s not subjective. It’s the portion that goes back to eXp. Where there’s some other companies that pay what are called profit share and that’s bottom line revenue that’s somewhat subjective because after all the eXpenses are paid, whatever’s left over is what they pay out. Well eXp is the exact opposite, it’s revenue share, it’s top line, it’s not subjective, you know exactly what you’re going to be getting based on the production of the agents that you recruit into eXp.
So again, it gives you the ability to no longer exchange hours for dollars, create a residual income, and eXp is just far more than a commission check.
#2 Why Join eXp Realty - Shareholder Equity
One of the big reasons, and this one was huge for me, it was one of my motivating factors as to why I joined eXp Realty, and that is shareholder equity through stock awards. And again, eXp is far more than a commission check, but there’s quite a few different ways where you can earn shares of stock, EXPI. And so one of the ways is you can take 5% of your gross commission and get the stock at a 10% discount to the market. So every deal you do, you can buy that stock at a 10% discount. And again, this was one of my motivating factors as to why I joined, and it’s far more than a commission check. And I’ve been a licensed agent now for 30 years and I’ve never been more motivated than I have been in the last couple of years since I joined eXp because every deal I do, I’m putting 5% into the stock, getting it at a 10% discount to the market.
So even if the stock goes sideways, you’re still earning a 10% return on that money. And that stock is yours immediately. And then there’s some other ways to earn stock that has a vesting period. One of which is when you cap. So every year eXp, it’s an 80/20 split, you get 80% eXp gets 20. Once you pay 16,000 into eXp from that 20%, you’re what is called capped. And once you cap, they’re going to give you shares of stock.
Another way to earn shares of stock is, as you recruit agents into eXp, every time they do their first deal, you’re going to get stock. And each transaction that you do every year, your first transaction and your anniversary date that you do on your calendar year, they’re going to issue you shares of stock. So again, it’s been the best decision that I’ve ever made based on accumulating shares of stock over the last couple of years. And again, like I’ve been saying, it’s far more than a commission check and it gives its agents so many different ways to earn income and be more than just their last deal and their commission check.
#3 Why Join eXp Realty - kvCore IDX For FREE
This next reason is one that is often overlooked, but if utilized, it’s a way where agents can do an extra one to two deals a month, and we’re doing that. And this was one of my motivations of coming over, and that is, eXp Realty gives its agents kvCORE for free. And kvCORE is what is called an IDX, internet data exchange. Somewhat similar to Zillow. Zillow is an internet data exchange where they get the listings from the MLS, and then they serve it out to the public. Well, kvCORE is the same thing. It gives people the ability to search through the MLS, and as they search and look at photos, they then have to opt in, which then becomes a lead.
And these types of platforms are really expensive. I mean, it’s a mortgage payment or a car payment. And in my previous brokerage, I was paying for kvCORE and spending $500 a month. And the minute that I came over to eXp Realty, it was free and that $500 expense went away.
So with kvCORE, if utilized correctly, and we’re showing agents how they can generate enough leads every single month to build a pipeline to eventually do one to two extra deals a month. And we’ve got a handful of new agents in our office that are brand new, that have utilized the kvCORE platform, and that are consistently doing an extra one to two deals a month. And so with that, I’m going to jump in and share my screen and just give you a little underneath the hood look at kvCORE and the power behind it. And if utilized correctly, again, you can be up and running and on your way to generating leads and building a pipeline to be doing an extra one to two deals a month.
And in the meantime, if you’re with another brokerage and you’re spending money on a platform like BoomTown, or even kvCORE, or a couple other ones out there, Real Geeks, immediately you can save money and eliminate that expense and get it for free with eXp. So let’s jump in, I’ll give you a little overview and show you what it looks like.
So I’ll give you a little sneak peek at kvCORE and the power behind it. And I mean, this one reason saved me $500 for moving over to eXp Realty. So I’m on my website, Tucson Homes and Lots, I’ve got kvCORE links all over my website in order to generate leads. So I’m going to click on this button, which then takes you over to the kvCORE site. Again, it’s an IDX, internet data exchange, it ties in to all the listings in our local MLS. And as you can see, I mean, you can do the traditional type of search that you see on Zillow or realtor.com, they can search by address, they can dial in by bed, bath, location, things like that.
It’s also customizable. So I’ve got some of the key searches here in Tucson that people would be searching for. And again, you can basically customize it however you want. So I’m going to give you an example. Let’s say somebody comes on here and the town home jumps out at them. So all the town homes and then they can dial in their search based on price, popularity, square footage. And then if somebody clicks on a listing … I’m already logged in, so it’s not going to do the opt-in thing. But as they scroll through photos, I think it’s the second or third photo, then a pop-up comes up, it then asks for their email. And then it says for your password, what’s your phone number? And we’re getting over 50% of the opt-ins are coming with phone numbers.
So once they opt in, it gives them the full ability to have all access to all the listings and everything that they need. And so this is the front end of the IDX kvCORE. And then the backend is what does the heavy lifting.
So the nice thing about kvCORE is it does the heavy lifting whether it’s doing content and driving traffic to kvCORE, Facebook posting stuff and free places, or even spending a little bit of money to drive traffic to various listings, there is the backend that does the heavy lifting.
So as you can see, it tells you there’s me, it tells you what I’m searching for, whether I’ve saved, it then sends automatic texts and emails out. And then as people are searching, it builds a smart search, and it knows what people are looking for, and then it’ll send out instant updates when new listings hit the market. So again, it does the heavy lifting and it’s so worth coming over to eXp to avoid the cost of having to pay for an IDX like kvCORE or one of the other big ones. And you basically are saving yourself a car payment or even a mortgage payment. So, for me, this one was big, saved money right out of the gate. But again, it’s a very powerful tool if used correctly.
#4 Why Join eXp Realty - eXp World
Okay, so the next reason, the next benefit is, it’s called eXp World. And this one I didn’t really get, and once I got it, I was like, wow, I was totally blown away. And eXp has what is called eXp World. And when I signed up in eXp, the person that enrolled me, I kept calling him and asking him questions. And he kept saying, have you been to eXp world? I’m like, no. So after probably the third or fourth call to him, I finally got it. I’m like, I got to go check out eXp world.
So the way eXp world works is it’s our online campus and that’s why we have no bricks and mortar. EXp does not have bricks and mortar. And that’s how they’re able to pay agents more is because they don’t have the overhead. So we’re like the Amazon or the Netflix of the eXp world. But eXp World gives its agents the ability to still connect in a live virtual training platform.
So you log in, you’re an avatar, and so they have every Sunday, an email comes out of all the various trainings, and you can log in and then go to a classroom where you’re in watching somebody train on various things. If you’ve got questions for your broker, you can go immediately over to your broker area for your state. If you’ve got commission questions, even technical kvCORE questions. So you log into eXp World, you’re an avatar and you just teleport yourself wherever you want to go, and then you’re speaking to somebody who’s also an avatar. It’s a real person. You got your headset on and you’re sitting in front of that person getting the help you need 24/7 in the comfort of your home, your office, wherever you’re at virtually, so you’ve got access. So it’s a really powerful tool.
And again, it’s why eXp doesn’t have brick and mortar because the brick and mortar is online and you’ve got access. And my previous broker, it was frustrating because if you had a broker question, you’d have to get in line, you had to chase him down, it just took forever. But with eXp World, you can immediately log in and you’ve got access to people that’ll help you immediately.
So eXp World, it’s awesome. At the beginning, I didn’t get it. A lot of people don’t get it, but once you understand it, it’s one of the big benefits to eXp Realty in terms of having the support and the comfort. And with the environment that we’ve been in, it’s been awesome because a lot of people haven’t been coming to the office, they’ve been staying at home, but they’ve still got the support that they need from the comfort of anywhere. So they don’t miss a beat. So eXp World, it’s another one of the big reasons why people are coming and flooding to eXp Realty.
#5 Why Join eXp Realty - ICON Agent Stock Awards Program
Another big reason why so many people are joining eXp Realty is for its ICON Agent Stock Awards Program. And this is for the teams, the big producers, or even that solo agent that’s motivated and wants to hit the next level. But with ICON agent, they’re going to issue you additional shares of stock for hitting a certain amount of production. And that production is you’ve got a cap, and then once you cap, there’s transaction fees, and once you pay $5,000 worth of transaction fees, which accounts for about 20 extra deals on top of capping, you’re going to become what is called an ICON Agent, and they’re going to give you $16,000 of eXp stock and some various forms in terms of how they give it to you in terms of the vesting.
So it’s really cool. And again, it’s far more than just a commission check and gives its agents actually the ability to earn back their cap and get more shares of stock in the company. So the top producing teams, it’s like a no brainer because right out of the gate, I mean, they’re going to do that volume anyway. And even for myself who solo agent, I’m on the verge of hitting that as well. So it’s a huge incentive to get to the next level, but by being motivated to get to that next level, you’re earning, you can take 5% of your gross commission and get the stock at a 10% discount to the market. So there’s a lot of different ways and again, it’s far more than a commission check like I keep saying, and it’s another big reason as to why so many people are flooding to eXp Realty.
Why Join eXp Realty - In Tucson Arizona
Okay, so that sums up the major benefits, reasons why so many people are joining eXp, there’s a lot more reasons, but those are pretty much the top five as to the motivation as to why so many people are jumping over to eXp. But now I’m going to talk about our local market, Tucson, and some of the reasons why a lot of people are joining our team here locally. We’re the Kolb Executive Group. And the one unique thing about us is eXp doesn’t have any offices, there’s no brick and mortar. But for me, it was important. I like to have an office. I like to get out of my home. And so, one of the visions and thoughts that I had was to create more of an executive office suite platform, which would give the people the ability to leverage the eXp model, have a place to work, or just a common area to bring clients, conference room, things like that.
So anybody that joins our team, the eXp Kolb Executive Group, has the ability to utilize our office space, have an office, there is a fee if they want an actual office, but they can come in and use the common area, use the conference room because for me, meeting clients at Starbucks is just awkward. And so I wanted to keep a professional atmosphere where our agents could meet with clients. So we created an executive office suite. It’s at 1610 North Kolb here in Tucson. And so that one of the local reasons as to why people are joining our team.
And then the other reason is we’ve got a moving truck. And so anybody in our rev share has the ability to leverage our truck from a marketing standpoint, and if somebody buys and sells a home, they can use our truck as an added benefit to their clients to give them access to the truck to move. It’s on a first come first serve basis, but it’s a great marketing tool. It’s great in your listing or buyer presentations that they’ve got access to our truck. And even after closing, if somebody has furniture or things that they want to move, even after they buy or sell, they’re more than welcome to use the truck.

Okay, that sums it up. And if those things don’t do it for you as an agent, sorry if you don’t see it. But again, it’s one of the main reasons why so many people are joining eXp. And like I’ve said multiple times in this video, it’s far more than a commission check. And so many agents, outside of eXp, you’re only as good as your last commission. You do a deal, you earn a commission, and now you’re off trying to do the next deal. But with eXp there’s, again, far more than just a commission, you’ve got the ability to earn residual income, you’re a shareholder through the shareholder equity stock awards program to make you more than what you are and give you a retirement type of plan to have money in the bank outside of your commission check. We got kvCORE, generate more leads, do more deals. We got ICON Agent. And then locally, we’ve got an office and a moving truck.
