We learned a valuable lesson when renting our Airbnb out to a local guest.
We have been told that you want to be extra careful when renting out to a local guest because that is the highest risk of parties and damage to your property. We had to learn the lesson the hard way.
We had a local guest book with us that had a party and did some damage to our property. Along with made a mess of the place.
In hindsight we would have never of renting to them had we vetted them.
When they booked with us, they had no review and no profile picture. Furthermore, they were local to our town.
In our rules on Airbnb and posted in our Airbnb home we have a no party, no event rule. Although we had the rules clear they rented our place to have a party.
Local people will book local Airbnb properties to make a mess of your Airbnb rather than make a mess of their home.
So be very careful when a local person wants to book your Airbnb. Take some extra time to vet them properly so you don’t make the same mistake we did!
