SaddleBrooke One HOA news, November 2026: election, RUA, arts center
Blaine Bond’s digest of HOA One’s November 2026 newsletter: what the board and staff decided, in plain words, with the source linked at the end. Not the association’s own text.
The short version
What changed in November 2026
- Three candidates are running for the 2027 Board: Julie Adamen (Unit 6, HOA-management consultant), incumbent Len Alcantara (Unit 19, retired Coast Guard captain and attorney) and Andy Timothy (Unit 21, Finance and Golf committee veteran); ballots are due Friday, November 20th at 4:00pm.
- Two of the three candidates list renewing the Reciprocal Use Agreement with SaddleBrooke Two, the deal that lets residents use both HOAs’ amenities, as a top priority, so it is still unsettled.
- The Creative Arts & Wellness Center has not opened yet; one candidate’s 2027 goal is getting it staffed and running, a year later than the February target.
- The HOA reminded owners that Rules Section 14.1 bars them from changing common-area landscaping and that views at purchase are not guaranteed to stay the same.
- About 150 employees run the community; residents fund their December 13th appreciation party.
- Long-time bingo coordinators retired after 10 years and a new couple took over the monthly games.
What it means for buyers
The 2027 Board will shape two things that touch every purchase: the RUA with HOA Two (your access to the other side’s pools, courts and restaurants) and how fast reserve money reaches the arts center. If a view sells you on a lot, read Section 14.1 first: the HOA will not trim common-area trees to protect it. Dues for 2027 are set at $3,340 a year regardless of who wins.

Founder of Adamen Inc., a consulting and executive-search firm for the community-management industry since 1997; former HOA general manager (1,274-unit Palm Desert community, $5.8M budget); Swim Club board secretary. | Candidate: Len (Leonard) Alcantara | Unit 19, resident since 1997. Retired US Coast Guard captain (26 years), law-firm founder (13 attorneys), licensed in AZ, HI and VA. SB One Board 2017–2022 and 2024–present; Rules Compliance & Covenants Committee 2010–2016. | Common-area landscaping rule | Rules and Regulations Section 14.1: homeowners may not modify common areas, including landscaping, and some owners have been directing their own contractors there. Owners may ask the Association for vermin prevention, erosion control, fire-hazard removal or weed control. Owners “cannot expect views which exist at the time of purchase, to remain unchanged”. Common Area Manager Patrick Hughes. |
